The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth and profitable operation of the department.  The incumbent maintains all equipment, trains and supervises employees and inspects their work as required to ensure that all work, including contractors, complies with legislation and meets Crevier standards. This position, moreover, is responsible to ensure that the distribution operation within RP Oil operates effectively, safely and maximizing least cost distribution.

 

Specific Accountabilities
 

Determines production personnel, infrastructure and equipment requirement.
 

Responsible for the office and warehouse operation and maintenance of equipment.
 

Assigns tasks to office and warehouse personnel as required.
 

Identifies and segregates defective material and initiates nonconformance procedures.
 

Ensures proper identification and disposition of nonconforming materials or products.
 

Develops training plans for the office and Warehouse Department personnel as required.
 

Ensures office- warehouse personnel are trained as required.
 

Ensures the warehouse area is maintained in an orderly and clean condition.
 

Receives customer orders and processes order information.
 

Monitors and maintains inventory levels as appropriate.
 

Manages inventory database. Reconciles inventory adjustments (STAD stock adjustments), verifies and reconciles shipping errors, and verifies accuracy of inventory counts.
 

Ensures the timely, cost effective distribution of product within an assigned market area.
 

Assists in planning vehicle requirements and efficient delivery routes.
 

Responsible for the quality of the fleet and for ensuring that maintenance schedules are adhered to.
 

Ensures that all relevant legislation and regulations are adhered to by the drivers.
 

Ensures that drivers are communicated with, trained and comply with health and safety and environmental policies and procedures. 
 

Understands and complies with company Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
 

All other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements
 

-       Knowledge of the distribution process.

-       3 years of experience within the area of distribution.

-       Ability to manage a fleet, provide least cost distribution, schedule and effectively supervise office, drivers and warehouse staff.

-       Ability to work with all levels of staff.

-       Exceptional customer service.

-       Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
